French Stoneware Confit Pot with Lid

Confit pot in excellent original condition.

Glazed stoneware complete with tap.

22cm tall excluding lid and rim 16cm in diameter.

This pot is almost 3kg heavy and a lovely example of a traditional pot complete with lid.

Confit is French for preserve.  Pots were originally made to store meat and poultry and were dug into the ground.

These pots are great in the kitchen to store veg, ornamental or use as a utensils pot.
